This episode is about two French wines that belong in your hands the second the sun comes out.</p><p></p><p>First up: a Pét-nat from Domaine Lingo Martine. 100% Gamay from the Savoie region, just off the boat from France. If you're not familiar with Pét-nats, this is the OG of sparkling wine. No second fermentation, no dosage, just a bottle that got capped before it was done doing its thing. </p><p></p><p>This one smells like strawberry shortcake and drinks like something you'd bring to literally any gathering and immediately become the most popular person there. </p><p></p><p>Then we shifted to a soft, easy-drinking red from southwest France. At around $22, it's one of those bottles that sits in a sweet spot: not as light as a Pinot, not as heavy as a full-bodied Cab, just right in that accessible middle ground. We got into one of our favorite concepts on this one: the difference between "thinker" wines and "drinker" wines. </p><p></p><p>Both are great. At around $22, it&apos;s one of those bottles that sits in a sweet spot: not as light as a Pinot, not as heavy as a full-bodied Cab, just right in that accessible middle ground.
