Leibel Lazaroff is a young rabbi from Texas who was in Australia when the country was rocked by one of its deadliest terror attacks. As shots rang out and chaos unfolded, Leibel spotted a police officer who had been critically wounded. Without hesitation, he tore the shirt off his own back and used it as a tourniquet to stop the bleeding, putting his own life at risk to save another.

As the terrorist moved closer, Leibel found himself face to face with the attacker. Trained, licensed, and familiar with firearms, he begged the wounded officer for his gun, believing he could stop the threat before more lives were lost.

Moments later, Leibel was shot.

His mentor, Rabbi Eli Schlanger was murdered in the attack.

Leibel survived but his journey was only beginning.

Now, after eight surgeries, Leibel joins JBN from his hospital bed to recount the moments that changed his life forever. He speaks candidly about fear, faith, resilience, and what it means to stand up to evil when every instinct tells you to run.
